Hair Removal
Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. Because hair is destroyed in the active growth phase, repeat treatments will be needed to target hair that is not affected at the time of the previous treatment. The number of treatments depends on your hair and skin color and type and the part of your face or body to be treated. Most individuals will require between 4-8 treatments. This is true for all body parts.
Q. Is treatment painful?
A. The sensation is often described as a "hot pinch" or "snapping" feeling lasting for a fraction of a second. You may also experience a feeling of warmth or tingling for a short time afterward. Most people tolerate treatment without any topical anesthetic cream. However, anesthetic cream is available.
Q. Are there any side effects?
A. The energies used for hair removal are commonly used in other medical procedures and have proven to be safe. Most people will experience no side effects while some will exhibit short-term reddening of surrounding skin. You will want to protect yourself from the sun for a short time after the procedure. An SPF sunscreen of 30+ is recommended daily.
FotoFacial RF™
Q. Is treatment safe?
A. Treatment is very safe. Many advances have occurred in the new technology without compromising effectiveness. There are no long-term health hazards associated with energy used in the Aurora.
Q. Will I have to take time off from work after the treatment?
A. After the procedure, your skin will be a little pink for a short time. Most people return to work or resume regular activities right away.
Q. What areas can be treated?
A. FotoFacial RF™ treatments can be used on any part of the skin. They are especially effective for improving the appearance of the face, neck and chest.
Q. Is it a one-time treatment or are there a series of treatments?
A. For optimal results, five treatments seem to work best.
Q. Will I notice the results right away?
A. Brown spots will turn darker temporarily before lightening but by the time you return for your next treatment you will be able to appreciate the improvements. With each treatment, you will notice gradual lightening and improvement of pigmented and vascular imperfections. You're more likely to notice the textural improvements towards the end of the treatment series.
Vein Therapy
Q. Why use laser treatment over scleropathy?
A. Some veins are too small for vein injection?
Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. Commonly, 1-3 treatments may be indicated to obtain optimum results.
Q. Is the treatment safe?
A. As mentioned, the laser light absorbed in the skin is safe and effective. Only the vein will be treated leaving the surrounding skin untouched.
