Dr. Paris E. Royo is a board certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing in Northern California since 1970. He received his B.A. and Masters from the University of California, Berkeley and received his medical degree from the University of Michigan. Versatile and innovative in his field, Dr. Royo was the first to implant UV protective lenses and one of the first to develop an Ambulatory Surgery Center for eye surgeries in Northern California. He established refractive surgery in Sacramento in 1981 and was the first to use the Excimer Laser for Laser Vision Correction. Performing well over one thousand microsurgical procedures per year, he continues to be a leader in his field consistently providing the latest in ophthalmic technology and procedures.

Dr. Royo is the past president of Surgical Eye Expeditions in Sacramento. He travels to the third world nations yearly to perform charitable eye surgeries and teach advanced techniques to foreign ophthalmologists.
